Coaching
How I work
I have been coaching EAs in management and leadership since September 2022.
Who I work with
Current and aspiring managers and leaders working in the effective altruism space.
What we work on
Building high-performing teams, delegation, roles and responsibilities, career growth, performance management, hiring, and difficult HR situations. My deepest specialization is giving and receiving feedback.
How I coach
I ask questions, listen, and build experiments with you from your own self-knowledge. I bring in practices from many sources and adapt them to your situation. Most of the growth happens in the work between sessions, so we set action items and I hold you to them.
Time commitment
A 90-minute session every two weeks, with 1–2 hours of work in between. Lasting behavior change usually takes three months or more. You should get something usable out of the first session.
- Pricing $165 for 60 minutes and $247.50 for 90 minutes — the discounted EA rate, for EAs without a professional development budget. If you have a budget, reach out and we will agree a discounted rate against it. The industry rate is $275 for 60 minutes and $412.50 for 90 minutes.

About
Hi, I’m Adam.
I spent 11+ years leading high-performing tech teams at Amazon and Bloomberg. The best moments of that career were the ones where I helped my people reach their goals: getting promoted, becoming managers, moving into new roles, delivering work that mattered to them.
In December 2019 I left software development to travel and look for work aligned with my values. What I have comes from talent and hard work, and also from luck and privilege. I decided to spend the rest of my career doing the most good I can, which is what drew me to Effective Altruism.
After career coaching with 80,000 Hours, I became a leadership coach to EAs. I have been coaching since September 2022.
